Mostly Martha's is a florist located off of HWY 51 in Ridgeland, MS and owned by Linda Sowell. Linda grew up in the hills of Yazoo County. When she was younger, she remembers her mother and grandmother having their own gardens where they would take clippings of their flowers and make arrangements. In 1977, Linda's mother was taking a floral design class at Holmes Community college and was killed in a car accident on her way to class. With the influence and knowledge she gained from her mother and grandmother, Linda decided to carry on her mother's legacy by purchasing SuPerl Florist in 1979. After getting her foot in the door and learning the ropes of how the business side works, she later bought Mostly Martha's in 1988 and The Fruit Basket in 1994. Juggling three different flower shops, Linda decided to sell SuPerl and The Fruit Basket in order to keep her focus on her family and Mostly Martha's. Over thirty-eight years Mostly Martha's has grown into a well-known flower shop all over Mississippi. Linda has pushed and worked hard to make it the successful business it has become. Over the years, She has gained many wonderful employees, one of which is her daughter, Elizabeth Williams. With the family talent stretching four generations, Elizabeth has won many awards and floral competitions. Gaining experience throughout the years, Linda and Elizabeth are now in partnership keeping the family legacy alive.
